How to Brighten Up Tired Eyes

We all have those late night mornings and wake up to horrible looking eyes but hardly any time to fix it days...well I have those days. On these days specifically I decide to press the snooze button too many times and end up with 10 minutes to get ready so here's a quick tutorial of how I brighten up my tired eyes.

I forgot to take some pictures but hope you can follow these steps easily.

♥Since my eyes seem tired already I apply some shimmery pink/peach eye shadow to the center of my upper eyelid and brown to the sides/corners of my eyelids, that way it brightens up my eyes and looks like I put in effort.

♥Next step is black eyeliner. I generally choose a pencil and finish my lines short on these days instead of have the cat eye line flick just to make my eyes seem a little rounder.

♥In these pictures I've applied half false lashes since I had a little time but it's completely optional, you can just curl your lashes or add mascara to your top and/or bottom lashes. But on a busy day, to me, this isn't really an option but it will help open your eyes more (if you need the how to on applying these lashes just refer to my previous post here).

♥Next I used Chanel Lumière d'Artifices Beiges which is a shimmery illuminating powder on my brow bones to highlight my eye area. I will admit this is an amazing coloured highlighter and I absolutely love the shades but unfortunately it is a sold out limited edition piece from Chanel, but any soft highlighters will do really.

♥This is my favourite part ^^

I use the Dolly Wink Pencil Eye Colour in gold to highlight my lower eyelid to give your eyes a larger brighter look. I really love it because its relatively soft so it can be applied quite easily and it just tops of any look with a bit of shimmer giving you that fake Korean eye bags look.

There you have it! I'm usually in a rush so I take out steps 3-4 on a usual day but if you have a little more time than me then try it out, try adding more/less and experiment ♥

Estee Lauder - Double Wear Foundation

I've been looking for a new suitable foundation with good long lasting coverage for my evening wear and Shu Uemura was a brand that I really wanted to test out. Unfortunately the previous foundation I bought wasn't really suitable for my skin type and became oily very quickly unless I use very small thin amounts which meant not enough coverage. I went back to Shu Uemura to try to save my already bought foundation only to find out that I'd have to buy both a powder to wear on top and a primer underneath. If you've read my previous posts I prefer to keep my make up simple and fast (god bless the guy who invented BB cream!). I chatted with the sweet lady from the Shu Uemura department about my foundation problems only to discover we had so many of the same issues. She ended up pulling me around the corner and told me "I know this isn't Shu Uemura but it is my absolute favouritist! It lasts me over 8 hours with no touch-ups! I'll ask xxxxxxx to let you try it, he's really nice, and he'll colour match it for you". They gave me a free small 7 day trial tub and before I knew it I was back and had bought the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation ($50AUD).

I prefer to only use this when I go out somewhere special so if I ever end up using this during the day I only need a very small amount (as above). It has a nice liquid consistency in which I prefer to apply with my fingers. This was because I really want to fill in any lines around my nose because it will show quite prominently if you miss that spot. A foundation brush is a good option but I stopped using them when I started uni and stopped having time to clean it as often as I should.

With a very thin layer my skin tone has evened out a lot more covering almost all of the redness and blemishes. It's very easy to apply and once dry it doesn't smudge or come off onto any clothing/tissues etc. It lasts every hour until you remove it. I also haven't broken out from it either!

Tip: if you match the colour of your foundation to your skin then you can apply as much as you want and you would never look cakey ♥

So here's my full face covered with the very little amount shown from the second photo (yupp that's my I haven't slept enough eyes D:)

Overall definitely ❤, 5/5
It stays perfect in place on my skin for as long as I need it, and only on my skin! It provides great coverage, doesn't cause break-outs and doesn't feel heavy on your skin at all. The only one problem I had with it was if I applied a thick amount and some skin were to say flake off due to dryness or lines weren't filled up properly it becomes very obvious and because the make-up doesn't move you can't smudge it, you'll need to cover that area with some foundation or try smudging it slowly with a small amount of cream. That said if you applied it carefully enough in the morning and had your skin make up ready then this foundation cannot go wrong. I definitely recommend!

Here are the last few pictures that I've edited. Some of them were done when I was really tired so I'll admit it was poor effort but I hope you can still like them ^^♥

Macadamia Oil - Luxe Travel Bag

Macadamia Natural Oil - Luxe Travel Bag

I received this as a free gift, worth 40GBP (approx $73AUD), when I made my purchase from where the promotion was that when you spend 60GBP (approx $110AUD) you get the Macadamia Oil Travel Set, before discounts applied. I wasn't sure if it was good or not for a long time because I'm one of those people who save stuff for special events, emergencies etc. so it's been sitting in my bathroom for about a month now. Now, I haven't had a haircut for about half a year so my tips have begun to get quite damaged and my hair is slowly looking lifeless even though I rarely ever use heating tools. I towel/air dry my hair and shampoo every 3rd day to reduce the stripping of my natural hair oils by my shampoo. My hair is also slightly coloured which meant that any bleached part of my hair looks even worse, it'd just bend and look wire-y and I was quite embarrassed about it for too long now, so it was time to pull out the macadamia oils ^^♥

The bag comes with a deep repair masque, a healing oil infused comb, healing oil treatment, nourishing leave-in cream, rejuvenating shampoo and moisturizing rinse/conditioner. I tried the shampoo, conditioner and leave-in creams first, and in all honesty it wasn't much difference compared to most shampoo/conditioners and leave-in creams that I've tried, I wasn't majorly impressed my hair was still quite unruly. After a week of unsuccess I decided to try the oil treatment.

I've tried Moroccan Oil before, but this bottle here is THE savior of all time, I'm absolutely in love with this. Just apply about a 5 cent coins/2-3 drops worth on your hands and into your dry/damp hair (just through the length and tips) and you get amazing looking hair. It was shiny, soft, bouncy and not the least bit oily. I've also recently tried the oil infused comb, I was a bit skeptic about it but it actually left my hair silky smooth! I recommend using a gentle detangler first then running your hair through with the comb because as a comb it isn't the best detangler but it makes your hair feel and look great.

Overall the entire kit I'd give a 3.5/5
I wasn't too impressed with the shampoo and conditioner but the comb was surprisingly helpful and the treatment oil definitely replaces my Moroccan Oil so it deserves at least 3/5, the 0.5/5 is because I have yet to try the masque sachet xD
I would definitely recommend anyone to get the treatment oil especially for those who colour their hair often, especially those guys/girls who bleach and dye their hair crazy bright colours. The oil is very light and absorbs really well which meant that I don't have to use it often either and doesn't have a strong smell.

This is a selfie I took the day I tried the treatment oil, it's not very clear but my hair is soft, shiny and bouncy. Super happy ♥

Tangle Angel - Professional Detangling Brush

Okay, to start. Yes, I'm reviewing a hair brush. Must I share this? Absolutely.

For the past couple of months now my hair brush began to lose the beads at the end of each brush, and we all know how annoying it is to look for them under the sink and irritating it could be on your scalp! So I decided to look for a cute durable brush when I came across this on Not only was I completely captivated by the pretty wings, the video and comments I read on it sounded very imressive, so I ended up purchasing the silver Limited Edition brush about $23.50AUD (also available in pink, black and blue and can come in kids sizes!). I wouldn't usually happily spend that much on a normal brush but this one looked beautiful and promising so I had to try it, of course there were some better ones out there but if it pleases my eye, I'm happy.

So right now it stands nicely in my bathroom (like the above picture), it feels quite light and can be easily held around the wings if you require more control. Personally I found the handle a little too short for my hands (which are bigger than most girls I know anyways) but wasn't that big of a deal.

I'm unsure if it's antimicrobial because my hair is clean when I brush it anyways, but it's definitely anti static and heat resistant♥

The bristles aren't thin and pointy and glides through my hair a lot smoother than any brush I've used.

After using it for a couple of weeks now I'd like to rate it a
I REALLY love it because I've noticed much less hair loss when brushing using this and it untangles any knot gently. Because it doesn't pull as well it makes a great wig hair brush, I just quickly run this through my cosplay wigs and they look smooth and great! The only problem was that I had to brush it through my hair a few times more since the bristles were a bit short and so it covers less amount of hair than the longer bristle brushes. This doesn't make me love it any less though cause my boyfriend is now more happy to brush my hair knowing that this won't pull and hurt me. It is beautiful and practical ♥
